Green Screen Test
We were assigned to take some test shots in-front of the green screen and take it to class for keying job. Since it was not possible to book the photography room at that time so I decided to go wild and make my own, cheap green screen!
Early in the morning I went to Jusco to search for materials. I thought I would need some kick-ass lighting equipments but I found out that it ain’t cheap. This is still not as ass-kicking enough, but the price is barely afordable at my current financial situation:

However I went for this little hand-held fluorecent lamp that costed me only RM40, which is quite okay.

At first I wanted to buy green cloth but the one I saw was RM60… *sigh* maybe next time, so eventually I bought some green papers and a roll of green tape at RM11 in total. Incredibly cheap.

I also bought a pair of gloves and some toy guns for later use:

“Illegal” stuff!! xD
C.Hau, Jz and I set up this little low-cost green screen in less than half an hour:

Here comes the actor! (me) XD

I wish I had better camera for this because I was using my cheap digital camera that can only support up to 640 x 480 resolution which is not sufficiant even for PAL DV1 format which is 720 x 576. Scalling up the video footage will make it look more awful but there wasn’t any better choice for us.

However, I believe that you don’t actually need high budget to get high quality…

…but if you do, you will get EXTREMELY good quality!! Damn. T.T

since it’s green it won’t give us a big problem and you can even use it for motion tracking if you want.
